2018 is coming to a close, and as we get ready for the New Year we’ve been reflecting on our progress, the setbacks, and on ‘what are we bringing for the potluck?‘
We gathered for our year-end office party. We cleaned the office, hid our monitors and cables, and brought drinks, some cooked and others bought food. We had dinner as a family at the same table where we sit every day. There, among the jokes and laughter, I caught myself thinking: this is the team.
It might sound naive, and I get it. People go to our website, scroll down to our bios, read the names and titles, and some realize how incredible my co-workers are. Others may not be able to tell the difference. But there, in the middle of the holiday spirit, I felt our cohesion to each other. We’ve got the know-how-to-play-in-a-team kind of players. We don’t rely on soloists or singular perspectives. It’s not just about talented people, but about the right ones.
It was not easy for us to get here. It has been a long year at Auditchain. We started 2018 with energy, motivation, and one clear objective: a working MVP. To accomplish this we had new members come and join our battle, and few left as well. But the ones that endured with their best attitudes achieved the Investor environment of our DCARPE Explorer. And, along with the journey to the MVP, we formed a culture, a growing discipline, and team spirit.
Forged by friction, we endured the heat of the arguments, the tireless nights of coding out our stories. We pieced together our collective vision, and melded our differences which became the homogeneous traits of our family.
Starting a project like ours was surely not going to be smooth sailing. Now, with only few days left on the calendar, we have successfully achieved a working MVP: an affirmation of real-time financial reporting, connecting the gaps between obtaining the records, performing the accounting, and streaming the statement into a front-end platform. And it’s all backed by the integrity of blockchain.
As we move forward into 2019, we are focused on packaging our product for a proper launch and achieving continuous decentralized audits in a world that needs a transparent economy. All of this I’m sure we are well equipped to accomplish, because we have the team.
Thank you, 2018.
